Your Question:  How long will it take to get a permit to remove my gasoline underground storage tanks?  I own the business in San Diego where they are located.

Quick Answer

Most plans are reviewed within 7-10 working days.

Summary

The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health (DEH) regulates the construction, operation, repair and removal of underground storage tank (UST) systems. The DEH Hazardous Materials Division (HMD) UST Group reviews and approves all permit applications for UST installations, repairs, upgrades and removals.

Provided that all the required documents have been properly completed and that all applicable fees have been paid, most plans are reviewed within 7-10 working days. The plan check technician will notify you by phone when your application package has been reviewed.
